Who this program is for
- Your HbA1c has crept into the pre-diabetes or diabetes range
- You've been told you have insulin resistance, PCOS, or metabolic syndrome
- Your energy, weight, or sleep are off and you suspect blood sugar is part of it
- You've tried diets and quick fixes and you're done with them
- You want to understand your body — not just be told what to eat
- You learn well in a structured, supportive group setting
Why most blood sugar advice doesn't stick
Most people already know they “should” eat better. The problem isn't the information.
The problem is that generic advice doesn't tell you how to apply it to your real life — your work schedule, your family meals, your cravings at 3pm, your social events, your sleep, your stress, and your individual body.
The Better Blood Sugar Program bridges that gap. Structured education + practical coaching + real-life application + group accountability.

The eight workshop modules
Understanding Your Blood Sugar
What blood sugar actually is. What HbA1c, fasting glucose, and insulin tell us. Why stability matters more than averages.
The Insulin Story
How insulin works. What insulin resistance means. How to support insulin sensitivity through food and lifestyle.
Building a Stable Plate
The plate model. How protein, fibre, fat, and carbohydrate quality work together. Why “low carb” isn't the only answer.
Meal Timing & Real Life
When to eat. How long between meals. The truth about breakfast, fasting, and night eating.
Sleep, Stress, and Movement
Why these aren't optional add-ons. How each directly affects blood sugar, and what's realistic.
Cravings, Emotions, and Eating
Why willpower isn't the answer. How to work with cravings instead of against them.
Eating Out, Social Life, Travel
Practical strategies for real life. Restaurants. Family meals. Travel. Holidays.
Sustaining Change
How to make this last. Tracking progress (not just the scale). Knowing when to adjust. What to do if you slip.
Essential vs Plus Support
Both options cover the full 8-workshop curriculum. Plus Support adds extra one-to-one time and accountability.

What participants say
“I finally understand what's happening in my body instead of just being told what to eat. My HbA1c dropped from 7.2 to 6.1 and my energy is the best it's been in years.”
“I'd done every diet you can name. This is the first time something has actually stuck — because I understand why it works.”
“Dorelle's approach is calm, evidence-based and never preachy. The group made the whole thing feel possible.”
Quotes reflect participant experiences. Individual results vary and depend on personal circumstances, medical context and engagement with the program.
Medicare, NDIS & private health
Medicare CDM plan
With a GP-issued Chronic Disease Management plan you may access up to 5 rebated dietitian visits per calendar year (~$60 per session). Individual consultations in the program can typically be claimed.
Private health insurance
Most extras policies cover dietitian consultations. We issue itemised receipts with the relevant item numbers so you can claim through your fund.
NDIS
We support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants where dietetics is included in your plan.
Rebate amounts and eligibility are set by Medicare, NDIS and individual private health funds and can change. We'll help you check what applies to you on your free 20-minute call.

- Better understanding of their own body
- More stable energy through the day
- Reduced cravings
- Improved blood sugar markers (where applicable)
- Less anxiety around food
- Clarity about what to do next
- Habits that have actually stuck for the first time
Lab improvements vary — HbA1c is a 3-month average, so changes typically show on follow-up testing after the program ends.
Program FAQs
How is this different from a one-to-one consultation?+
One-to-one consultations are deeply personalised. The Better Blood Sugar Program combines structured group education with one-to-one consultations. Many people find the group element helps with accountability and learning.
Can I do this online?+
Yes. The full program is available online via Zoom for clients across Australia.
What if I miss a workshop?+
Workshops are recorded for participants if needed. We also build in catch-up support.
Is it appropriate for type 1 diabetes?+
The program is designed for type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, and gestational diabetes. For type 1 diabetes, we recommend individual consultations.
Do I need to be on medication to join?+
No. The program is for people anywhere on the blood sugar spectrum — including those who don't yet have a formal diagnosis but suspect blood sugar is part of their picture.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?+
If your GP has placed you on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, you may be eligible for up to 5 rebated dietitian visits per calendar year (currently around $60 per session). The individual consultations within the program can typically be claimed under this plan. The group workshop component is private fee.
Can I claim through private health insurance?+
Most private health funds with extras cover dietitian consultations. Rebates vary by fund and policy — we provide an itemised receipt with the relevant item numbers so you can claim.
Is NDIS funding accepted?+
Yes, we can support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants where dietetics is included in your plan.
Your next step
Not sure where to start?
Most people don't know whether their symptoms are driven by blood sugar, gut health, hormones, or something else. That's exactly what we help you understand in your first conversation.
